Bachelor of Laws
Bachelor of Laws (Latin: Legum Baccalaureus; LL.B.) is an undergraduate law degree that allows a person to become a lawyer in Pakistan and most common law jurisdiction countries. While in Pakistan LLB is a five-year degree, but abroad it is still three years professional degree.

Recognized Foreign Universities Law degree
In Pakistan, the Pakistan bar council (PBC) recognized local and foreign universities/colleges law degree. If you want to take admission in a law degree or you want to do legal practice in Pakistan, your law degree must be recognized by PBC. PBC has issued the list of foreign universities whose law degree is duly recognized and acceptable in Pakistan.

LLB degree from Foreign Country
If you are interested in three years LLB degree, now the only option is to do LLB from institutes/colleges of foreign country which are duly recognized in Pakistan by PBC. And if you are interested to do Law degree from institutes/colleges of USA/Canada/Australia, you need to appear in LSAT test. LLB degree from Pakistan
LAT test is a prerequisite of LLB admission, but all universities/colleges are now accepting LLB admission applications without LAT results. You have to provide them LAT results within a year of admission, so apply for LLB in universities/colleges where admissions are open.

Law Admission test (LAT)
As per order of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Higher Education Commission (HEC) is conducting Law Admission Test (LAT) for applicants desirous to get admission in five-year undergraduate LLB degree Programme in HEC/PBC recognized public and private law colleges and universities.

LAT Syllabus
LAT test pattern and syllabus is provided as under:
Subjective Part
- Essay either in Urdu or English (minimum 200 words)-15 marks
- Personal Statement either in Urdu or English (minimum 200 words)-10 marks
Objective Part (MCQs)
- English (Synonyms/ Antonyms/ Preposition)-20 marks
- General Knowledge-20 marks
- Islamic Studies- 10 marks
- Pak Studies-10 marks
- Urdu vocabulary-10 marks
- Mathematics-10 marks
Requirement for LAT test
- Students who have passed the FA/FSC/ICS/I.COM or A Level;
- Result awaited students who have appeared in the final examination of FA/FSC/ICS/I.COM or A Level.
